Infosys-backed spacetech startup GalaxEye has acquired spacecraft engineering company StarOps, which traces its origins to TeamIndus, to strengthen its in-house satellite development capabilities.TeamIndus was India's first spacetech startup in 2010 and secured a spot in the Google Lunar XPRIZE competition to land a spacecraft on the moon. The acquisition comes about a month after GalaxEye lost contact with Mission Drishti, its maiden Earth observation satellite and the world’s first satellite combining synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and optical imaging.Launched in May aboard a SpaceX mission, Drishti experienced an anomaly following a geomagnetic solar storm during the final stage of its launch and early orbit phase, the startup said adding that chances of recovering the spacecraft was low.
